Q1: Can the SOYU twin shaft tire shredder directly cut the high-tensile steel bead wires inside truck and tractor tires?

A1: Yes. Our heavy-duty double shaft tire shredding machines are engineered with massive low-speed, high-torque cutting power and premium alloy steel blades that can directly shear through embedded steel wire meshes, tread wires, and standard car tires. However, for massive, thick-walled commercial truck tires or heavy OTR agricultural tyres, we highly recommend adding our automated tire bead wire drawing machine (debeader) as a pre-treatment step. Removing the ultra-thick steel bead wire beforehand drastically reduces blade wear and quadruples your cutter lifespan.

Q2: What steel metallurgy is used for the tire shredder blades, and can they be repaired?

A2: To withstand the continuous shock impacts of shearing rubber-embedded steel wires, our cutting disks are manufactured from premium wear-resistant alloy steel (such as high-grade CrMoV or D2/SKD-11 equivalents) treated with specialized multi-stage vacuum heat processes. Furthermore, our tire shredder blades are designed to support hard-face welding and surface reclamation. When the cutting hooks experience normal industrial wear, your local technicians can re-weld and regrind the blade edges without replacing the entire shaft, drastically lowering long-term maintenance costs.

Q3: Since dual-shaft shredders do not have bottom screens, how do you control the final tire output particle size?

A3: In a standard twin-shaft configuration, the material is shredded into coarse, irregular strips or shreds, and the output width is directly determined by the physical thickness and hook count of the cutting disks (typically producing standard 50mm to 150mm tire shreds perfect for TDF - Tire Derived Fuel production). If your factory requires smaller, uniform rubber chips (e.g., 20mm to 30mm) for downstream rubber powder granulators, we can configure the shredder with a closed-loop conveyor system and an integrated heavy-duty rotary trommel screen to automatically recirculate oversized pieces back into the hopper.

A4: Processing post-consumer scrap tires carries a high risk of encountering foreign heavy metals or solid steel rims left inside the tyre cavity. To protect the main gearboxes and cutting rotors from catastrophic torque structural failure, every SOYU industrial shredding line utilizes premium German standard DIN 5480 splined connections combined with a smart Siemens PLC monitoring system. If a torque spike exceeds the safe motor load current threshold, the PLC triggers an instantaneous automatic reverse cycle within 0.5 seconds to clear the chamber, avoiding mechanical damage and drive motor burnouts.

Q5: Can the tire shredder separate the sheared steel wires from the clean rubber chips?

A5: The primary twin-shaft tire shredder performs heavy-duty volume reduction and shears the rubber and steel wires together into rough shreds. To completely separate and clean the embedded steel wires from the rubber matrix, the discharged material should pass through our secondary heavy-duty raspber or fine granulator, which liberates the wire fibers.
